Jo Ann Piña, Ph.D.
A
dynamic trainer and consultant on CEI's professional team, Dr. Jo Ann Piña has
20 years' experience delivering seminars in leadership development, customer
service, conflict management, gender communication, cross-cultural
communication, cultural competency, and diversity in higher education
institutions. Currently, she is writing two books-one on Hispanic communication
styles in the workplace and a second on corporate secrets that every emerging
minority leader must know.
Dr. Piña is the only Hispanic Ph.D. in the National Speakers Association; she
serves on the Board of the National Capital Speakers Association and of Growth
Strategies, Inc.; and she is a recent fellow of the National Hispana Leadership
Institute. She is President of InspirAction, a firm dedicated to enhancing
understanding between cultures and the sexes, a certified Myers-Briggs trainer,
a former counselor and professor at Montgomery College, a certified mediator,
and a former corporate trainer for Anthony Robbins. Dr. Piña is currently on
the graduate faculty at Johns Hopkins University's Leadership Development
Program.
Jo Ann earned her Ph.D. at The American University in Washington, D.C. and has
done post-graduate work at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard
University. Dr. Piña also holds a B.A. from Cal State Los Angeles and an M.A.
from Hood College.
